Founded "The Dale Watson Fan Club". (DWFC)
Darrell was the Fan Club President and Earline was the Vice-
President. We both had no idea what we were doing. Earline's
Job was to keep the books and make sure that all the members
were satisfied. We had many projects to keep us busy.
Dale was also very busy, it was very hard to keep up with all
that he was doing. One thing that Dale had going for him was
the Curb deal. We all thought Dale's time had came. Dale had
just released "One Tear at a Time". The record was getting
plenty of air play around the country. We ask KIKK radio in
Houston to play his song, however Joe Ladd called us and
ask us if we could ask the fan club members to stop call him
to request Dale's songs. If you ever met Joe Ladd you'll know
what we are talking about. Joe told Darrell "We do not have a
copy of the song. If I had a copy I would be glad to give it air
play". Dick Whitehouse with Curb Records sent me a promo
CD. I went to the radio station and put it in Joe's hand. Still no
air play.
Dale made a video for "One Tear at a Time". The video
received substantial play time on CMT.
